An Art of Love. A Name of Grace.
The “line of balance” in mother’s paintings transcended time and space,
transforming life’s emotions into creative nourishment and evolving into an art form worthy of inheritance.

The Beginning of the Journey
Born in Taiwan, British designer Grace Wong was shaped by her entrepreneurial father, who instilled in her discipline, diligence, and a deep respect for detail. At the same time, her mother, an artist, introduced her to art and calligraphy, nurturing her appreciation for tradition and craftsmanship.
As a child, Grace recalled her mother guiding her hand to draw a straight line to complete a painting, a “line of balance” that became both a lasting design philosophy and a continual source of inspiration.

“Each bag is a work of art. And great art takes thought, culture, passion and time to shape.”
2011
Establishment of Grace Han
From the outset, Grace envisioned a brand founded on uncompromising craftsmanship. Rather than simply designing handbags, she immersed herself in the art of making them. After two years of hands-on learning in a handbag workshop, a chance encounter with a master pattern maker in Taipei marked the true beginning of the Grace Han journey.

2013
Birth of the First Pleated Bag
A deeply introspective experience led Grace to explore pleated designs, with fluid yet structured lines that reflected her own story, her mother’s influence, and the strength and depth of the women she represents.
Grace began experimenting with textiles, but their fragility eventually drew her to leather. Achieving precise pleats in leather required both skill and patience. Each fold had to respond to the leather’s thickness and tension, challenging seasoned artisans to transcend conventional craftsmanship.

2015
Sublimation of Craftsmanship
In pursuit of excellence, Grace led a team of Taiwanese artisans to Florence, where they collaborated with Italy’s renowned leather craftsmen.
Over two years of experimentation and refinement, this collaboration between East and West fused traditional techniques with innovation. Grace Han’s iconic pleats were brought to life through refined French edge techniques and original leather beveling, resulting in graceful yet resilient folds that embody the brand’s distinctive aesthetic and enduring spirit.

2018
Establishment of Taiwanese Atelier
Grace established her own atelier in Taiwan, with a vision to preserve and reimagine traditional craftsmanship. By overseeing every step, from design and pattern-making to sewing, she ensures the highest standards of quality while nurturing the next generation of artisans.

“The soul of a creation lies not in skill, but in whether it can offer a glimmer of light to the world.”
